We’ve got another cracking line-up for March’s comedy night. Join us for a laugh or two (hopefully more!) with Harriet Dyer, Alun Cochrane and Adam Staunton.

Harriet Dyer

Harriet Dyer’s been full-time at this stand-up malarkey since 2013. She regularly gigs up and down the UK and has been lucky enough to gig all over the world.

Harriet’s done the majority of the UK festivals and big clubs, although sadly the thing she seems to be recognised the most from is when she went on Dinner Date eight years ago and didn’t cook the chicken properly thus giving her date the shits.

Harriet’s been on BBC Radio 4 Extra numerous times, BBC Ouch, BBC Knock Knock, BBC3 and is currently on the BBC iPlayer with two different bits of stand-up (head to “clips” page for those.) Harriet also co-hosted Jason Manford’s radio show on Absolute Radio in 2017.

She’s had numerous critically acclaimed solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her favourite being, “Barking at Aeroplanes” which was one of the first to touch on mental health as a subject. Due to the themes it covered it resonated with a lot of folk and as a result Harriet’s done a lot of work to do with mental health through her comedy ever since. Harriet also runs the cult hit, “Barking Tales” which is a comedy / storytelling night in Manchester where most of the acts and audience tend to have mental health issues themselves. It’s a safe space for everyone involved.

Harriet also presents the, “Don’t Worry, Bi(polar) Happy” podcast which is available on iTunes, Spotify, Podbean and Stitcher etc. It was on the new and noteworthy section on iTunes for six weeks.

ALUN COCHRANE

Award-winning stand up comedian Alun Cochrane has appeared on numerous TV shows including Michael McIntyre’s Comedy RoadshowRussell Howard’s Good NewsMock The WeekDave’s One Night StandNever Mind The BuzzcocksHave I Got News For You and 8 Out Of 10 Cats. He was featured as series regular ‘Sam’ in the Sky Living sitcom Trying Again, alongside Chris Addison and has appeared in Coronation StreetBoomers and Russell Howard’s Christmas film A Gert Lush Christmas.

Alun is the co-host of The Frank Skinner Show on Absolute, for which he received an Arqiva Award nomination for Best Newcomer. The show also won a Sony Award  for Best Entertainment Programme. He regularly features on BBC Radio 4’s The Comedy Club. Other radio credits include The Now Show, Just A Minute, Dilemma, Loose Ends, Lee Mack And Friends and Listomania. Alun wrote and starred in the Radio 4 series Alun Cochrane’s Fun House, offering listeners a room-by-room stand up tour of his home.

Alun was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Perrier Awards and has won Chortle Awards for Best Breakthrough Act and Best Compere as well as additional accolades with the Writer’s Guild Award For Comedy.

ADAM STAUNTON MC

A sharp wit and an eye for the funny, combined with a confident and demanding stage presence has seen scouse funnyman Adam develop into a solid act since first taking to the stage.

Having performed as part of Big Value Comedy Show during Edinburgh Festival in 2012 he has gone on to regularly perform at some of the most established clubs and festivals in the country.

A sharp mixture of eagle-eyed observations and simmering self-deprecation has endeared him to growing audiences far and wide.

He has performed alongside some of the biggest names in comedy including John Bishop, Sarah Millican, Rob Rouse, Phil Nichol and Jack Whitehall.

The writing is sharp, the observations sparkle.
